Advise · Microsoft 365 · Microsoft Partner

Off-the-shelf Microsoft 365 is the right start for most SMEs.

Identity, email, files, Teams, MFA, encryption, retention and audit logging are already inside a standard Business licence. Most firms are paying for it and using a third of it. We license it correctly, configure it properly, make it compliant, and consolidate the tools it replaces.

Billed in rand, monthly, with the licences reviewed every quarter so you're never paying for seats nobody uses.

Why start here

You already own most of the security stack. It's just switched off.

A properly configured Microsoft 365 Business tenant gives an SME what enterprises paid millions for a decade ago: single identity, MFA, encrypted mail, device management, retention, legal hold and audit trails. The gap is almost never the licence — it's the configuration, the backup, and the person accountable for it.

Licence it right

Every user on the cheapest licence that covers what they do. Shared mailboxes free, kiosk licences for the floor, Premium only where Intune and Defender are needed. Reviewed quarterly.

Configure it properly

MFA and conditional access, Defender, Intune baselines, SharePoint structure that survives growth, Teams governance, external sharing rules — done once, documented, monitored.

Make it compliant and backed up

Retention, DLP, encryption and audit logs mapped to your regulator's rules, plus a real backup in our SA data centre — because Microsoft's isn't one.

Licensing, plainly

Three licences cover most South African SMEs.

We'll mix them per user. Prices are Microsoft's rand pricing, billed monthly by us — quoted on the call, never marked up in the dark.

Business Basic

Frontline · shared devices · light users
  • Exchange email (50 GB), Teams, OneDrive (1 TB)
  • Web and mobile Office apps only
  • MFA and basic security
  • Good for staff who don't live in Word and Excel

Business Premium

Regulated firms · anyone handling client data
  • Everything in Standard
  • Intune device management, Defender for Business
  • Conditional access, Purview information protection
  • The compliance licence for FSPs, legal and accounting

Above 300 users, or for specific needs (Copilot, Power BI, Visio, Project, E-plans), we quote the right add-ons. We don't sell Enterprise plans to firms that don't need them.

Compliance is key

Your obligation, the control that meets it, and the evidence.

For financial services providers, legal practices and accounting firms, the rules are set by the regulator and the professional body. We turn each one into a configured control inside Microsoft 365 and document it so the auditor's question has a one-page answer.

POPIA · Condition 7Security safeguards

MFA everywhere, conditional access, Defender, encrypted mail, device compliance via Intune.

FICA · FAIS · FSCARecord-keeping & retention

LPC · SAICA · IRBAConfidentiality & segregation

Matter/client-based access, sensitivity labels, external-sharing rules, DLP on ID and financial data.

POPIA · Section 22Breach readiness

Audit logging, alerting, incident runbook and the reporting evidence the Regulator expects.

Questions we get asked

Straight answers.

Which Microsoft 365 licence should a small firm be on?

For most SMEs under 300 users, Microsoft 365 Business Standard or Business Premium. Premium adds the security and compliance features regulated firms need — Intune device management, Defender for Business, conditional access, Purview information protection — for a modest step up. We map every user to the cheapest licence that covers what they actually do, which usually means a mix, not one SKU for everyone.

We already have licences through another reseller. Can you take them over?

Yes. Subscriptions transfer to us at renewal with no disruption to users, and we typically find 10–25% of seats that are unused, duplicated or over-specified. You keep your tenant and your data; only the billing and the partner-of-record change.

What does 'compliant' mean for an FSP, law firm or accountant?

Your obligations — POPIA, FICA record-keeping, FSCA/FAIS retention, the LPC's confidentiality rules, SAICA independence — translate into concrete controls: MFA on every account, conditional access, retention policies that keep records for the required years and delete them after, data loss prevention on ID numbers and financial data, audit logging, encrypted email, and a tested mailbox backup. We configure them, document them, and produce the evidence when asked.

Does Microsoft back up our email and files?

Not in the way most people assume. Microsoft keeps the service available; it does not keep a point-in-time backup you can restore a deleted mailbox or a ransomware-encrypted SharePoint library from. We add third-party backup of Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams, stored in our South African data centre, and we test restores.

Can we run our phones on Teams?

Yes — Teams Phone with direct routing through our hosted 3CX gives you Teams as the interface and 3CX as the PBX, with proper queues, recording and reporting. Or run 3CX on its own. We'll recommend based on how your people actually work.

What can we cancel once 365 is set up properly?

Commonly: separate email hosting, a file server or Dropbox/Google Drive, a standalone antivirus, a third-party MFA product, a document-signing tool, a meeting product, and a password-reset helpdesk queue. Consolidation is part of the engagement, and the savings usually cover the licence uplift.
