We rejected the offline edge-controller model on purpose. Hardware is given internet access, reports to our data centre, and is controlled from the platform — so there is one truth, one place to look, and one place to secure.

Which devices does Swiss Pulse support?
Deye inverters and batteries, Centurion gate motors, Shelly and CBI (Tuya) smart switches and DIN-rail breakers, generator diesel metering, water and electricity meters, smart irrigation controllers, and more. The device model is open — if it is smart and has an API or protocol, it can be interfaced.
Does it work with the devices already installed on my site?
Yes. Brownfield sites have a mix of brands. Swiss Pulse brings existing devices in through a bridge — Tuya developer integration for CBI, direct APIs for Shelly and Sonoff, Modbus and vendor APIs for inverters and meters — and then standardises what you add next.
Do I have to use the vendor apps?
No. Swiss Pulse talks to devices directly via their APIs and protocols, not through the vendor's consumer app. One login, one dashboard, one set of scenes across every brand.
Where does my data live?
All client-deployed equipment reports back to Swiss Systems' own Tier-3 data centre in Johannesburg. Readings are stored, trended and reported from there, and control commands are issued from there — cloud-central by design.
What can I automate?
Scenes and schedules across brands: lights off and gates closed at 22:00, irrigation only when the tank level allows, generator start when battery SOC drops below a threshold, alerts when a breaker trips or a meter shows a leak. Rules are built in the platform, not per device.
Is this for homes or commercial buildings?
Both. Swiss Pulse is intended as the common platform for smart homes, smart buildings and commercial property reporting. Estates and body corporates use it for common-property energy, water, gates and irrigation; homeowners use it for the house; commercial landlords use it per tenant and per floor.
